It’s become a bit of a tradition now that my flatmates and I
go to the cinema on a Tuesday night to see a film. The first film we went to
see together was ‘Bridget Jones’ Baby’ and straight after watching it, I knew I
wanted to write a post reviewing it.
I was highly anticipating the release of ‘Bridget Jones’
Baby’ because I’ve seen the first two films numerous times and it’s gotten to
the stage where I no longer find them that funny. I wasn’t expecting to like
this film more than the previous two Bridget Jones films though, but it
happened.
From the very start of the film I was laughing at the
ridiculous, although relatable, life of Bridget Jones. There were definitely
points in the film when my friend and I turned to each other, laughing, and
said ‘that’s you’. I think the story line was really interesting and I loved
how there were references and flashbacks to the first two films. There was even
an appearance from Ed Sheeran!
I loved the character of Jack in the film; he was so sweet, and
how can you not think Patrick
Dempsey is hot? However, my love for Mark Darcy
is still there even though Colin Firth has looked better… Although Hugh Grant
isn’t in this film, they still acknowledged his character, Daniel, which I feel
was very appropriate for him and it made me laugh a lot.
I really liked the soundtrack to the film as it featured so
many good songs, including the stereotypical Bridget Jones song ‘All By Myself’.
After seeing the film, Ellie Goulding’s song ‘Still Falling For You’ has
quickly become one of my current favourites.
The one thing I think the film was missing? An epic fight
scene between the two male characters, or even one more fight between Colin
Firth and Hugh Grant, like there was in the first two films. I was waiting for
it throughout the whole film; at one stage I thought it was coming but was
highly disappointed when it didn’t. That’s the only thing that I would change
about the film as it’s the first film I’ve seen in a while that made me laugh
as much as this did.
Have you seen Bridget Jones’ Baby?

Oooh I've been wanting to see this! Really excited you liked it even more than the first two! I watch the first Bridget Jones every time I've had a crummy day...it never fails to lift my spirits. :)
