The Vamps Concert 2016

the vamps concert

While I'm writing this it is 12:30 am and I am just home from The Vamps concert in Belfast. I had such an amazing time that I wanted to share it with you all straight away! Also, my post about the concert last year is the most popular on my blog, so I thought you would enjoy this. You may want to grab a cup of tea while reading this, because it's gonna be a long post...

I was so excited to see The Vamps again, along with The Tide who also supported them last year. We were sat so close to the stage in row 6 (although sadly that doesn't show in the pictures) and had an amazing view of everything!

The show kicked off with Louis Walsh's latest boy band, Hometown. They sang some of their original songs such as 'Cry For Help' and 'The Night We Met', not forgetting their single 'Where I Belong'. They sounded really good live and I had to video a few of their songs for my mum because she loves them haha! I was really impressed with Hometown. I'd only ever heard 'Where I Belong' on the radio, but never realised how good they actually were!

Then it was time for The Tide, the American band signed to The Vamps' record label. They also sang their original songs like 'What You Give' which they performed last year as well, and their new single, 'Young Love' (which you can get here if you want!). As always, The Tide sounded amazing and got everybody in the crowd hyped for The Vamps. They also played some of the songs from their upcoming album which sounded incredible and I cannot wait until they're released!

After hours of anticipation, the arena filled with screams as it was finally time for The Vamps to take to the stage and, as usual, they did not disappoint! They started off the show with 'Rest Your Love' and 'Cheater' from their latest album, 'Wake Up', and then performed their single 'Somebody to You'.  After that it was time for some 'Kung Fu Fighting' as they performed their version of the song from the Kung Fu Panda 3 movie. They also did some more covers of songs in a medley which started with their version of Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' (which Brad forgot some of the words to half way through, God love him), then led into 'Stressed Out' by TOP, which is a song that I love anyway, but they did a really great cover of it. They also sang 'Perfect' by 1D, 'Can't Feel My Face' by the Weeknd, 'Stitches' by Shawn Mendes, and finally 'Lean On' by Major Lazer. I loved how they put their own twist on all of the songs that they covered, and the medley sounded really good!

After the medley, Brad played one of my favourite songs, 'Wildheart', on the piano which sounded beautiful and everyone was singing along at the top of their lungs. The rest of the band came out a little bit later and it became a lot more up tempo. I definitely danced along to it! To be honest, I was most looking forward to James and Connor singing 'Written Off' and 'Risk it All' and they did not disappoint! Both of their voices are incredible and these two songs sounded perfect when they sang them. I'm actually quite gutted that I didn't video it! The whole band then performed 'Windmills' and afterwards we were treated to a brand new song called 'Stay' from their next album which they've already started to write. Brad sang this accompanied only by an acoustic guitar. I loved this song and it's made me so excited for more new music from them (and also another tour).

The Vamps have a new single coming out tomorrow (April 1st) called 'I Found a Girl' featuring OMI, the guy who sang the 'Cheerleader' song that everyone was obsessed with for a while, so obviously they performed it. However, rather than OMI, they got Austin, the lead singer from The Tide, to sing his part. This song actually makes me laugh a bit, particularly the line 'baby you're mistaken, I'm not into bacon'. It is a good song though! You can get it here if you want...They also performed their song 'Volcano' which features Silento. Yep, the guy who sang the Whip Nae Nae song! Rather than having him on tour, we got to hear Tristan rap, and he was actually really good at it! It was nice to see Tris on stage with the rest of the boys as well, rather than being behind the drum kit all night!

'Oh Cecilia' was performed more so by the new band signed to The Vamps' label, New Hope Club, and to be honest I was kind of disappointed that the boys didn't sing it themselves! Nonetheless, it still sounded good with brad on the drums and James playing the guitar. I can definitely see New Hope Club being pretty big in the future! Like last year, Tris had a drum solo and again it was incredible! He played at the end of the runway on an elevated rotating platform, so everyone could see him perfectly.

Of course, it wouldn't be a The Vamps concert if they didn't play their singles, 'Last Night' and 'Can We Dance'. The whole arena went mad during these two songs, especially 'Can We Dance' as Brad asked everyone to sing the lyrics as loud as we could. The final two songs that they performed were 'Stolen Moments' (definitely one of my favourites from the album) and 'Wake Up', one of their previous singles. Brad played 'Stolen Moments' on a beautiful black grand piano at the end of the runway and was joined by the rest of the boys on the main stage a bit into the song. During 'Wake Up' everyone sang as loud as possible and danced along. As they performed, paper confetti fell throughout the arena, and at the end of the song they took their final bow!

It was an incredible concert and I honestly don't know where The Vamps get all of their energy from! They ran and jumped and danced about the stage all night while singing. I would be out of breath after a minute doing that! They always put on a great show though, and their support acts are always amazing. When we were waiting on our lift we actually headed round the back of the arena to see if we could meet the boys, but sadly we missed them.

The post-concert depression has started to hit me already haha! Obviously I took way too many photos, so at least I can look back and remember the night.

Are you going to see The Vamps at any of their concerts? Or have you seen them before?

GRWM | Formal

On Wednesday evening it was my school formal or "prom" as some of you may call it. At my school, the formal is a chance for lower and upper sixths to get all dressed up, have a nice dinner, and party with each other, along with a few of the teachers from school.

A few nights before the formal, I used the bBold fake tan. I applied two coats of this and then showered it off to get a natural looking tan. I would definitely recommend this tan! It was easy to apply and it didn't turn out patchy at all. I got so many compliments on my tan and how natural it looked as well!

On the day of the formal I got my hair done by my regular hair dresser. I didn't get a photo of my hair (*sad face*), but she basically recreated this hairstyle that I found on Pinterest.

For my make up, I started with my eye make up, which I used the Urban Decay Naked Palette to do. I wanted to do a brown smokey eye, so firstly, I primed my eyelids using the Urban Decay sin eyeshadow primer, and then swiped a bit of the eyeshadow in the shade 'sin' all over my lids. In the crease I put a bit of the shade 'buck' and then put the shade 'hustle' over it. To darken up the outer corner, I put a tiny bit of 'creep' and blended it all out. Under my lash line I added a little bit of 'hustle' and used 'virgin' to highlight my inner corner and brow bone. Then, in my upper lash line, I used a black eye liner pencil.

For my foundation, I used the Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation in the shade NW15. This was a great match for my skin when I had the fake tan on and it lasted all night! To conceal a few spots and the dark circles under my eyes, I used the Miss Sporty concealer in the shade light. I applied the concealer under my eyes in an upside down triangle shape to highlight them. I also added a bit of this down the bridge of my nose, on my forehead and on my chin to highlight. To powder I used the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil to set my foundation and concealer in place.

I then contoured my cheekbones, jawline and forehead and highlighted the tops of my cheekbones and cupids bow using the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette. I added a bit of my Bare Minerals blusher in the shade 'Your Highness' to give my cheeks a rosy flush.

I then filled in my eyebrows using the Barry M Brow Kit and added some of the Tanya Burr Bambi Eyes Eyelashes, some liquid liner and mascara! The Tanya Burr lashes looked so fluttery and pretty! Finally I used the Rimmel Kate Nudes lipstick in the shade 45 which is a gorgeous rose colour, to complete my look.

After my make up was finished it was time to put on my dress and shoes. I got this gorgeous lilac dress from the Forever Unique Website. This dress was on sale from £400 down to £200, and I was so lucky that the only one left on their website was in my size!!  My shoes were these simple silver sandals from New Look.

Then it was time for a few photos before leaving the house and heading to the school to get the bus to the hotel.

This was a bit of a different post from my usual posts! What did you think of it?

Things I love About Spring

It's officially the first day of spring and it has definitely been feeling like spring lately; the sun has been shining and it's been warmer. I absolutely love springtime and here are some of the reasons why!

Days Begin to Get Longer
Don't you just love it when it's 7 o'clock and the sun is only beginning to set?

It Starts to Get Warmer
Of course, it's not exactly shorts weather (when is it ever really in the UK?), but you can ditch a few of the extra winter layers.

Flowers Like Daffodils and Tulips Grow
Tulips and daffodils are some of the prettiest flowers and as soon as they start to appear in the garden you know that spring has well and truly sprung!

Pastel Colours
I love pastel colours and spring is the perfect time to re-add them to my wardrobe.

Easter Eggs
Loads of chocolate. What more needs to be said?

Spending More Time Outside
Long walks in the forest, playing with my dog Lola, taking photographs of my surroundings.

Better Lighting to Take Blog Photographs
No more taking photos in bulk on one random sunny day, there's plenty now to get the perfect lighting!

Seeing Baby Animals in Fields
I love seeing little lambs and calves in the fields at springtime, they're so adorable!

Summer is Coming!

What do you love about spring?

Beauty Haul!

Recently I've been buying a few beauty bits here and there. These have been building up over the last few weeks and I wanted to share with you what I've bought!

liz earle cleanse and polish

First things first, I visited the Liz Earle website and bought basically every bloggers holy grail product, the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, and the Liz Earle Instant Skin Boost Tonic. This was a re-purchase as I was given a gift set containing these for Christmas, and I loved them that much I had to buy some more! The cleanser was £15.50 and the toner was £14.50.

tanya burr cosmetics

I then had a little browse on Feel Unique. While I was coveting make up that I couldn't afford (the Naked 2 & 3 palettes *sad face*), I spotted the Tanya Burr Beauty range. I've been wanting to try some of the things from Tanya's range since it first came out, so I added the Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in 'Afternoon Tea', the Galaxy Eye Palette and the Bambi Eyes lashes to my basket. The lip gloss is such a nice, natural pink colour and it doesn't feel too sticky on my lips at all! I've been wearing it so much recently. I haven't tried the Bambi Eyes lashes because I'm saving them for my formal next week (expect a blog post about that!). I've only swatched the Galaxy Eye Palette on the back of my hand, but I love all of the shades and they all have such cute names! As there was a 3 for 2 offer on, these 3 products only came to £11.99 - what a bargain!

soap and glory kick ass concealer

And finally, I stopped by Boots and picked up two of the new Soap & Glory concealers, after seeing them in Lucy and Lydia's Soap & Glory haul video: the Kick Ass Blur and Brighten Crayon Concealer and the Kick Ass Just Bright Tired Skin Concealer. I've added both of these products to my every day make up routine because I've started to get some serious baggies under my eyes as a result of one two many late nights spent doing coursework. I've found that a combination of both of these concealers hides the dark circles completely. To be honest, I expected these both to be really drying under my eyes, but they aren't!  The Blur and Brighten Crayon was £4 (RRP £6) and the Just Bright Concealer was £6 (RRP £8).

That's the lot! Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them?

February Favourites

Hello! This post was later than I anticipated, but I've been so busy with school at the moment that I haven't had time to write any posts! I feel like there weren't many things that stood out to me as favourites this month. Well, things that are different to what I wrote about in my January favourites anyway! There were a few things that I loved though, so here they are.

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo
I received a free sample of this with my latest order of Liz Earle products, and after the first wash I had fallen in love with it! It leaves my hair super shiny, without making it go greasy quickly like some other shine shampoos do to my hair.

Nicka K HD 24 Hour Waterproof Eyeliner
This eyeliner came as part of February's Glossybox. I was extremely excited when I saw a brown eyeliner in the cute little box as I needed a new one. This eyeliner applies like a dream. One swipe of this and the colour is intense. I like to smudge the liner out a bit, but I use my finger rather than the smudger on the end as I find it rubs the liner off instead of smudging it.

Burt's Bees Lip Balm
Thanks to the freezing cold weather at the moment, my lips have been dry and chapped - not a good look. However, I've turned to my trusty Burt's Bees to save them. It always leaves my lips feeling moisturised and I find I don't have to apply it as often as some other lip balms.

source

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
I was browsing through Netflix, searching for something a bit less intense than PLL (that show is a whirlwind of drama!) and stumbled upon Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I had heard of it before and thought I may as well watch one episode to see what it's like...I ended up liking it so much that I finished the series in less than a week! It was so funny, although what TV show/ film written by Tina Fey isn't? I can't wait for the next series!

My New Blog Design

If you haven't noticed, I have a new blog design! I wanted something a bit more professional looking, and as I'm completely clueless about HTML, I decided to buy a theme. I found one that I absolutely loved so I jumped straight in and bought it! I'm really happy with the appearance of my blog now and I hope that you like it too!

What were you loving in February?
