December Favourites!

So, Christmas is over and a new year awaits.

December was a great month that I spent surrounded by family and friends, new and old. Here are some of the things that I loved throughout the month!

Sin from the Naked Palette
This has been my go-to colour from the Naked Palette recently. I sweep a bit of this all over my eyelid and then add a bit of the shade buck to the crease to create more definition. It's a simple and natural eye look that I've loved wearing.

Collection Long Lasting Nail Effects Nail Polish
I received this nail polish as part of the December Glossybox and I've been wearing it throughout the month! The colour I received is Strawberry Gold and it was the perfect festive colour with gold shimmer through it.

Eve Bennett
Recently, I've loved watching Eve Bennett's videos. She's only 15 years old and already she has nearly 100,000 subscribers! Her videos are really entertaining and she definitely reminds me of a younger Gabbie (aka Velvetgh0st).

Evan Edinger
I only discovered Evan Edinger on Youtube this month and I'm loving his videos! His puns are on point - I love a good pun!

Christmas dinner
You can't beat a good ol' Christmas dinner with all the trimmings! I've had about 3 Christmas dinners this month: one at school and two at home. Christmas dinner was definitely my favourite part of December. And, of course the leftover turkey, ham and stuffing that was used for sandwiches. Yum!

What were you loving in December?

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and I wish you a very happy new year!

Top 10 Christmas Films

As I'm writing this post it's snowing (yay!). What better way to spend a snow day than to cosy up in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate and a Christmas film. Here are ten of my favourite Christmas films, in no particular order of course, because that would be way too hard!

1. The Santa Clause
This has been one of my favourite Christmas films since I was a child. I watch it every single Christmas without fail and it doesn't feel like Christmas until I've watched it.

2. Elf
Elf is one of the funniest Christmas movies and another one that I watch every year. I haven't watched it yet though, so I think a movie night is in order!

3. Home Alone
Home Alone is a Christmas film that will never get old. I love all of the traps that Kevin sets up for the burgalors and they always seem to make me laugh.

4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
I love the Grinch and think that Jim Carrey plays the character so well! I also love how much the Whos get into the Christmas spirit.

5. Miracle on 34th Street
This is a Christmas classic. It always gets me into the Christmas spirit and I've been watching it since I was young.

6. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
In my opinion, the sequel to Home Alone is just as good as the first one - and I never think that about sequels. Like the original I feel like this film will never get old either.

7. The Holiday
The holiday is a great Christmas-y chick flick that I love watching at Christmas with my friends. It has a great balance between comedy and romance and is my type of film! Let's face it, we're all Cameron Diaz when Mr Brightside comes on. Also, Jude Law in this film is a babe ;)

8. Jack Frost
Another childhood favourite that I love to watch. I always end up in tears though, but we all need a bit of a cry every now and again.

9. Love Actually
This is another Christmas-y chick flick that I love (although not quite as much as The Holiday). I like how there are lots of different stories within one and that it's not the typical, cliche romance with a happy ending.

10. Nativity
This film takes me back to my childhood and doing the nativity play at primary school. However, in this film the nativity has a little bit of a different twist than the usual nativity... All of the kids in this film are so talented as well!

November Favourites!

Nars Sheer Glow
As I think I mentioned in a previous post, this is the only foundation that I have found that is the perfect colour for my skin-tone. The coverage is also quite good and I no longer wear concealer along with the foundation, but it doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all and I sometimes forget that I'm wearing makeup!

Mac Ruby Woo
I find it hard to find a red lipstick that suits my skin-tone and doesn't make me look washed out, but MAC's Ruby Woo lipstick is the perfect red for me. It's a bright, vibrant red that lasts for ages and doesn't rub off when eating and drinking!

Emite Diamond Heart Primer
I recently signed up for Glossybox, and in the November box I received this primer. I've started to wear this everyday under my makeup because it helps it keep it on my face and stops me from having to powder every so often, especially when I'm at school.

Eco Tools brush set
My brothers and sisters gave me this set of brushes for my birthday and I love them! They're so small and cute and the design on them is really pretty. They're quite small so it makes them very handy for travelling and putting in my handbag. The set includes a powder brush, an angled blush brush (which is perfect for contour as well),  an eyeshadow brush, a liner brush and a foundation brush! Another thing I love about these brushes is that they are made with cruelty free synthetic bristles, sustainable bamboo handles and recycled aluminum ferrules.

Reign
A few of my friends recommended this to me and after hearing them talk for a while about how good it is I decided to watch it myself. It definitely didn't disappoint and I may have binge-watched 10 episodes in one day... It tells the story of Mary Queen of Scots, although it is fictional, and it's so good!!  Also, I love the costumes - some of the dresses are amazing!

Costa Christmas Drinks
You know Christmas is coming when Costa brings in their Christmas drinks. Not only are the cups extremely cute, but the coffee and hot chocolate are delicious! This year I've been loving the caramel fudge hot chocolate, salted caramel cappuccino and of course the gingerbread and cream latte.

Wake Up The Vamps Album
The Vamps released their long awaited second album in November and I've been loving it! Some of my favourite songs from the album are Rest Your Love, Volcano (ft. Silento), Stolen Moments, and Million Words.

The Christmas Tag!

It's finally December, and you know what that means...
CHRISTMAS!!

It's finally acceptable for me to put up Christmas decorations, wear Christmas jumpers and listen to Christmas music (not that that has stopped me from listening to Christmas music in November!). To get into the Christmas-y mood, I thought I would do the Christmas tag!

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
The Santa Clause has always been a favourite Christmas film of mine and it reminds me of my childhood, but I also love Elf and Home Alone!
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Always Christmas morning! Although these past few years my mum has started to give us one present on Christmas Eve (which is always Christmas pyjamas).

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I have lots of good Christmas memories. I just enjoy spending time with my family, eating, drinking and having a laugh!

4. Favourite festive food?
Roast potatoes! There are only a few times a year that my mum makes roasties and Christmas is one of them! They're so good and definitely my favourite part of my Christmas dinner!

5. Favourite Christmas gift ?
Ooh this is a hard question! I've always loved everything that I got, but I remember one year I got my first bike, which was of course Barbie because I was obsessed with Barbie back in the day and nearly everything that I got was Barbie, and I was so happy and excited!

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
I love the smell of the turkey cooking on Christmas Eve, but also cinnamon.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
On Christmas Eve we always get a Chinese for dinner, then sit down as a family and watch a movie. Whenever we were younger my brother, my sister and I used to get together in one of our bedrooms and plan what time we were getting up (usually the early hours of the morning) and who would have the honours of waking our older brother and sister and our parents. And of course we couldn't forget about leaving some milk and biscuits out for Santa, a carrot for the reindeer and a note to tell Santa where to leave our presents.

8. What tops your tree?
It was an angel for years, but I'm pretty sure it's now a star.
9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
It wasn't that crazy, wild or extravagant but I remember always wanting a Password journal. I put it on my list every year but never got it. It was probably for the best though because looking back now I probably wouldn't have used it.
10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
I think the best part about Christmas is definitely spending time with family, and having a laugh with them. Christmas is always great craic in our house with different games and singing Christmas songs to keep us entertained. Oh and the food!

What are you looking forward to the most this Christmas?

Beauty Haul!

Recently I've been on a bit of a spending spree and have bought myself a few new makeup items!

Mac Ruby Woo Lipstick
This is the first Mac product that I've ever owned. I've wanted to try some of their makeup for a while now and have heard a lot of good things about their lipsticks. I find that red lipstick is always very hit or miss for me; some can make me look very washed out. However, I think that this lipstick is the perfect red for me!

Mac Cherry Lip Liner
Of course I also had to get a lip liner to wear with the lipstick, and this was a colour that was recommended.

Nars Sheer Glow In Siberia
I'm very pale and have a neutral skin tone, therefore it's very hard for me to find a foundation that isn't too dark or too orange. After reading numerous reviews online and much deliberation, I decided to splash out and buy myself this foundation, which is a perfect match for my skin tone!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
Another makeup item that I've been wanting for a while and finally bought when I was in Poland. I love this mascara so much and I featured it in my October favourites post.

The Naked Palette
I didn't buy this myself, but actually got it for my birthday from my friends. I've wanted this for ages and they had to put me off buying it a few times before my birthday, but I didn't suspect a thing! I love the Naked palette and I'm so grateful to my lovely friends for it!

Have you tried any of these products before? What do you think of them?

Liebster Award

Thanks so much to Caoimhe for nominating me for this award! You should definitely check out her blog; it's a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog that I love reading!

The rules for this award are:

1. Post a link back to the blogger who nominated you.
2. Answer the 10 questions that the person who nominated gave you.
3. Nominate 10 bloggers (or blogs).
4. Give your nominees a set of 10 new questions for them to answer.
5. Also don't forget to include the Liebster award sticker in your post.

Caoimhe's questions:

1. What is your favourite animal?
I love so many animals and it's hard to choose just one favourite, so my top 5  favourite animals are dogs, giraffes, elephants, meerkats and monkeys!

2. What is your favourite place that you have visited?
I think my favourite place that I've visited is Paris. I went about 5 years ago with my school. It's a gorgeous city and I had a great time there. I'll never forget it!

3. What is your favourite song at the minute?
Aaah! There are so many good songs at the moment, but it would probably be Wake Up by The Vamps. They're one of my favourite bands and I can't wait for their new album and to see them again in March!

4. Who is your celebrity crush?
Luke Hemmings. Without a doubt. He is gorgeous.

5. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
I love writing and also interacting with people who read my blog. I get so excited when I see that someone has left me a comment, so don't be afraid to leave me one! :)

6. Do you have any bad habits?
I do. This sounds really gross, but I crack my knuckles.

7. What do you like to do to relax?
I like to listen to music to relax. Earphones in, world out.

8. What is your favourite smell?
Oooh, I love the smell of cinnamon! It reminds me of Christmas.

9. What is your favourite social networking site?
I really like using Tumblr, and you can find me on it here :)

10. Have you ever met a celebrity? If not, who would you like to meet?
I haven't! But if I were to meet a celebrity I'd like to meet The Vamps (do they count as a celebrity?) because they seem like they'd be really down to earth and fun to talk to. Also, as I mentioned before, I kinda love them.

I nominate:

My questions to you:

1. What is your favourite season?
2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
3. What is your favourite quote?
4. If you could time-travel to the past, what year would you travel to?
5. What one object would you save from your house in a fire, assuming anything alive is already safe?
6. Do you have any phobias?
7. What is your favourite book?
8. What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
9. Do you have any hobbies (besides blogging)?
10. Where would you like to travel to in the future?

Thanks again to Caoimhe for nominating me and I can't wait to read my nominees answers!

October Favourites

It's that time again. November has arrived and Christmas is just around the corner! Here are my October favourites!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

I had wanted this mascara for a while, so when I was in Poland I decided to buy it. I've used it everyday since getting it and I really love it! My lashes are noticeably longer and more curled. I will definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out!

Marble Print Skirt

For my birthday my mum and dad got me a skirt and top to wear on a night out. Unfortunately, the skirt that they bought me was too big and there were no smaller sizes. However, it did mean that instead I got this gorgeous skirt from a little boutique in my town. I don't usually wear bodycon skirts because I'm pretty self-conscious about my hips, but this is so flattering! The pattern is really unusual and gorgeous and it's easy to wear with a black top and black heels.

Scream Queens

I've only watched two episodes of this so far after hearing about it everywhere online, but I'm hooked! It's really dramatic and mysterious with a bit of humour as well. It's also quite gory though, which I was shocked by because I didn't think it would be so graphic.

Milk Bottles and Paper Straws

Another thing that I got for my birthday from my parents and that I loved were these milk bottles and paper straws. I see these on pinterest all the time and think that they're so cute, so now I get to use them myself and be all pinterest-y!

What were you loving throughout October?

October Roundup!

October has probably been one of the busiest months for me this year (so far). Pretty much every week there was something happening!

As you might know from my previous post I was in Kraków for 4 days. I went as part of a school trip and had a really great time with my friends! You can read all about it here.

This month there were a few birthdays, one of them being my own 18th birthday! I was completely surprised on the Friday night after my birthday when I got home from shopping with my sister to find all of my friends up stairs! I was so shocked that all I could say was 'oh my god' over and over again. I had originally planned to curl up on the sofa and watch high school musical  - such a mature movie for an 18 year old, I know - but a surprise party with my friends and family with a lot of food, cocktails and a chocolate fountain was a much better way to spend the night!

The next night I got all dressed up and went out for dinner for my birthday with my friends as I'd planned it before I knew there was going to be a party for me. They made me wear a birthday badge as well so I got sang to by a few drunken guys which was pretty funny!

It was nice spending the weekend with my friends and family to celebrate my birthday, especially considering on my actual birthday I spent the night doing coursework!

A week later it was my sisters 30th birthday, so my family and I just had some food, presents, and cake at the house for her. I spent the whole day searching through our massive collection of family photos trying to find the most ridiculous ones to post on her Facebook wall. Am I a good sister or what?

The night after that I was at a house party for my friends 18th birthday. As it was the night before Halloween we all decided to dress up for the occasion. I went as where's wally because, 1: I thought it was fitting saying as my last name is Wallace and it gets shortened to wally a lot; 2: I was a lot more comfortable wearing blue trousers, a striped top and converse than a dress; and 3: I already had the costume in the house so it was easy to get! I just curled my hair and added a gold smokey eye and a bit of red lipstick to make it a little bit more girly! It was a great night, even though we didn't get much sleep!

What did you do in October?
