As I'm writing this post it's snowing (yay!). What better way to spend a snow day than to cosy up in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate and a Christmas film. Here are ten of my favourite Christmas films, in no particular order of course, because that would be way too hard!
1. The Santa Clause
This has been one of my favourite Christmas films since I was a child. I watch it every single Christmas without fail and it doesn't feel like Christmas until I've watched it.
2. Elf
Elf is one of the funniest Christmas movies and another one that I watch every year. I haven't watched it yet though, so I think a movie night is in order!
3. Home Alone
Home Alone is a Christmas film that will never get old. I love all of the traps that Kevin sets up for the burgalors and they always seem to make me laugh.
4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
I love the Grinch and think that Jim Carrey plays the character so well! I also love how much the Whos get into the Christmas spirit.
5. Miracle on 34th Street
This is a Christmas classic. It always gets me into the Christmas spirit and I've been watching it since I was young.
6. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
In my opinion, the sequel to Home Alone is just as good as the first one - and I never think that about sequels. Like the original I feel like this film will never get old either.
7. The Holiday
The holiday is a great Christmas-y chick flick that I love watching at Christmas with my friends. It has a great balance between comedy and romance and is my type of film! Let's face it, we're all Cameron Diaz when Mr Brightside comes on. Also, Jude Law in this film is a babe ;)
8. Jack Frost
Another childhood favourite that I love to watch. I always end up in tears though, but we all need a bit of a cry every now and again.
9. Love Actually
This is another Christmas-y chick flick that I love (although not quite as much as The Holiday). I like how there are lots of different stories within one and that it's not the typical, cliche romance with a happy ending.
10. Nativity
This film takes me back to my childhood and doing the nativity play at primary school. However, in this film the nativity has a little bit of a different twist than the usual nativity... All of the kids in this film are so talented as well!
What's your favourite Christmas film?
